Facebook is a lot like Texas weather. Don’t like it? Wait a few minutes and it will change.

Last month, Facebook made a BIG change in it’s platform, eliminating the term “Fan” and changing it to “Like”. You are now no longer a “Fan” of Dairy Queen, you just “Like” them.

The logic? It’s all about the numbers, baby.  Studies show that people click “Like” almost two times more than they click “Become a Fan” everyday.

The latter part is important – it means that the change could make it easier for brand advertisers to accumulate fans quickly. But it also means that users might not totally understand what they’re opting in to. After all, becoming a fan means that you’ll start receiving updates from the brand in your News Feed.

What do you think about this change? Hate it or “Like” it?
