Getty Images severed ties with one of their freelance photographers recently because he submitted a digitally altered photograph for use on their site. Getty supplies most of the nations newspapers, magazines and online sites with images of people and events. It’s the industry’s go-to source for all things happening on the planet.

I’m glad Getty was diligent and publicly acknowledged the error. But it raises the question, with today’s technology, can you really believe everything you see?
