Dallas Chefs Raise Over $750K For Addiction Recovery

On Sunday, October 16th, many of Dallas’ top Chefs, led by Honorary Chef Janice Provost of Parigi, gathered at Lighthouse ArtSpace to prepare wonderfully delicious tastings for guests attending the Dallas All Star Chef Classic presented by Ben E. Keith benefiting Dallas 24 Hour Club. In addition to the exceptional cuisine, guests were entertained with live music by the Jordan Kahn Music Company featuring Georgia Bridgwater and enjoyed a Silent Auction. Marsha Williamson, CEO of Dallas 24 Hour Club gratefully reports that the event broke a record for fundraising, bringing in over $750,000 for the nonprofit.

Event Chairs Kimberly and Shannon Wynne, and Honorary Chairs Chef Paula Lambert and Chef Stephan Pyles led this year’s event to raise funds which will benefit Dallas 24 Hour Club and allow them to continue to provide transitional living, support services and essential life skills for homeless alcoholic addicts who want to embrace long-term sobriety and become contributing and self-supporting members of the community. This was the first time that Lighthouse ArtSpace has held an event of this nature on the premises and after a 2-year hiatus Dallas 24 Hour Club was thrilled to bring back this in-person fundraiser and be the first organization to utilize this beautiful space.

Since 1969, Dallas 24 Hour Club has provided transitional living, support services and essential life skills for alcoholics and addicts so they can embrace long-term sobriety and become contributing and self-supporting members of the community. Help is available for the suffering alcoholic or drug addict 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The 24 has grown to offer housing and services for both men and women and hosts 34 Recovery meetings weekly. In March 2021, The 24 acquired an 18-unit apartment complex just 10 minutes walking distance from The 24’s Ross Avenue location. Named after Dallas 24 Hour Club’s Founder Lee Tillman, Tillman House provides affordable sober living for up to 41 residents. Successful graduates of The 24’s program are eligible for this affordable, sober living opportunity to allow them to practice critical life skills and establish an even stronger foundation of recovery.
