World Food Championships Launches Inaugural World Mixology Competition

The 11th Annual World Food Championships is returning to Dallas November 9-12

Jettison’s George Kaiho will represent Dallas in the NEW Mixology Competition at this year’s World Food Championships

 

October 24, 2023 (Dallas, TX) -- The 11th Annual World Food Championships (WFC) is returning to Dallas November 9-12 to host a multi-day, twelve-category cooking competition that brings 1200+ top chefs and home cooks from all over the globe to battle it out for a piece of the event’s $400,000+ prize purse. This year’s competition will see the addition of an Inaugural World Mixology Competition with 10 award-winning bartenders from around the United States to compete for a $5000 cash purse prize. Four of the 10 competitors will end up in the finals and create dessert cocktail samples as part of WFC’s Sam's Club Bite Club on Friday, Nov 10. The event will take place at Centennial Hall at Fair Park, 1001 Washington St, Dallas, TX 75210.


Spirits specialist Francesco Lafranconi will preside over the competition as the emcee and master judge. A world-renowned mixologist, spirits industry educator and icon of cocktail culture, he is the Senior Vice President of Beverage and Hospitality Culture for Carver Road Capital Hospitality Firm and the founder and managing partner of MR. COCO, a visionary cocktail lounge located at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Francesco previously served as Executive Director of Mixology and Spirits Educator for Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits of America. His extensive knowledge and passion for his craft have made him a hit with his A-list celebrity clientele, world-class corporate clients, world renowned Michelin star chefs, national restaurant chains, international hotel companies and the thousands of people who’ve attended his seminars and live events around the world. Attendees who have purchased a Bite Club ticket will get to vote on the winner, alongside the panel of judges.

Chefs participate in 12 categories for world domination: Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Chef, Dessert, Rice/Noodle, Sandwich, Seafood, Soup, Live Fire, Cocktails, and Vegetarian. Outside of its Kitchen Arena, WFC has tasting experiences for foodies of all ages, including an opportunity to judge some of the event’s 8,000 competition dishes.
