Henry's Majestic to re-open Fall 2023 in former Chicken Scratch/Foundry location
The much beloved Henry’s Majestic is pleased to announce their return to the Dallas dining scene in early Fall 2023. Owners Andrew Popp and his wife, Feliza Macias, have taken over the former home of Chicken Scratch/The Foundry located in West Dallas at 2303 Pittman Street at Fort Worth Avenue, Dallas, TX. 75208. When it comes to the menu and décor, expect a familiar but slightly revamped vibe. Serving as General Manager/Chef de cuisine, Macias will revive the concept’s existing menu with a few new additions for brunch, lunch, dinner, and late night. The two-acre site will feature their industrial but contemporary design-style speckled with unique “found” items. Valet and ample self-parking will be available.
Henry’s Majestic will be taking full advantage of the spacious, dog-friendly site which will offer ample outdoor seating where customers can enjoy live music. A high-end mister system and multiple fire pits are being installed to make the venue comfortable for customers year-round. For those who prefer controlled temperatures, inside dining and bar service will also be available in two different buildings on the premises. Future plans include a plan to partner with local vendors and retailers for pop-up events, have a rotation of food trucks, and more.
“Our motto at Henry’s Majestic has always been ‘Good Food. Strong Drink.” and customers can expect us to stay true to that mindset as we reopen our doors,” said Andrew Popp.
Alex Fletcher, who created the original bar program for Henry’s Majestic, is returning to revamp the bar’s offerings. “I am attempting a zero-waste cocktail program with this new iteration, a sustainable wine list and a back bar that focuses on sustainable brands.” said Fletcher, “There will be some of old house favorite cocktails’ on the list for some nostalgia but we will also make new playful modernized creative cocktails. There will be a zero-proof portion and possibly some ‘pup-tails’ on the menu.”
Formerly located at 4900 McKinney Ave. at Monticello, Henry's Majestic opened its doors in October 2014 in a space that all the critics had called "cursed". Undaunted, they pressed forward creating an award-winning space that offered diners an array of elixirs with an elevated yet approachable menu of small and large plate offerings in an approachable environment. In addition to Henry's Majestic, the building also housed Atwater Alley, the concept's small but speakeasy that gave a lavish nod to another era serving amazing Prohibition-esque cocktails and oysters to a festive handful of guests. Both concepts were forced to close on October 30, 2022 when the landlord sold the building.
